PETG recommended for strength and flexibility. IIRC, I used a #8 or #10 screw as the spreader. The kids used the trim on my 2014 Subaru Outback as a step, and broke off several of the plastic mounting cams that hold on the side trim. As far as I could tell, Subaru only sells replacements with the entire trim, which would mean wasted money and more plastic in our landfills. :-p
