
Quick Background: I purchased a 12 volt cigarette style socket from AmazonBay (?) for accessory power on my Royal Enfield Himalayan. I found a good design on thingiverse (referenced) to mount it - but I thought I could fit it a bit better make it a bit stronger/durable. My model printed up quite easily - only requiring a smidgen of support material (see the attached 3mf file as a project). I designed it with an M5 x 15mm cap-head screw and M5 nylock nut in mind (you'll need one each of those to mount it) - a M5 x 15 hex screw/bolt will also work just fine. Printing Suggestions: Material: ASA or PETG Perimeters: Six perimeters and six top and bottom layers. Layer height: 0.2mm Infill: 30% cubic Support: Useful for supporting the overhang section of the holder. I used organic supports from the build plate only. The attached 3mf file shows the supports required if opened as a project. Design Files: My design was quite a tight fit with the 12v socket I purchased. It included a couple of ‘flats’ on the socket mounting thread to keep the socket from twisting in the mount. I've included the STEP files for both the socket holder and the back of the clamp if your particular socket had different dimensions.
