
The cap on the coolant reservoir tank of the secondary Hyundai i10 went AWOL. Luckily we had access to another one on the primary i10, so modelling a suitable replacement was straightforward. No attempt was made to replicate the external appearance of the original - only the fit and function is important. And that was achieved - after more than 6 months in service it is still in pristine condition, and fitting and functioning perfectly. Printed in PETG, at 0.2 mm with 50% infill (probably not necessary, but dialed up that much from an abundance of caution), and with supports , to ensure decent definition of the two internal protrusions which engage with the thread on the coolant reservoir tank itself. ABS will likely also work well, but I would be leery of PLA; it can get rather hot under the hood, and PLA might distort. There are two versions of the cap - one has a smooth top ( CapPlain.stl) , and the other shows the Hyundai logo ( CapHyundai.stl ), which is just silly, yet here we are. Your choice. (I chose the first option.) To ensure a proper seal, the cap also has an insert, which you can print using something squishy like TPU, or, as I did, do not print it, but rather simply cut a circle out of neoprene or EVA foam (of 3mm or 1/8" thickness - it is not that critical), and press it into the cap before using it. The foam I had in my stash happened to be adhesive on the one side, but even that is not necessary - it cannot go anywhere when the cap is on, which is all the time. Or use some double-sided tape if you wish.
