
This converts your transaxle linkage to a thrust bearing design. Has been installed on our rally car for over a year and has been perfectly fine (printed in ABS - see more info in printer settings section). Installation instructions are attached as PDF. To use the new part, you will need to order the bearings, also refer to BOM in the PDF: 2x thrust bearings for 15mm shaft diameter, McMaster-Carr P/N 5909K13. Include 2x thrust washers per bearing (28mm OD x 1mm thickness), P/N 5909K73 2x thrust bearings for 10mm shaft diameter, McMaster-Carr P/N 5909K11. Include 2x thrust washers per bearing (24mm OD x 1mm thickness), P/N 5909K71 Optional but recommended: a new M8 lock nut. You can add shims as well to take out some slack: see attached files for 2 sizes, maybe print one of each. Some linkages need a shim, some don't. Installation procedure: But is it strong enough? See the video below, where destructive testing is done: Print Settings Supports: Yes - Tree supports Resolution: 0.2mm Infill: 80% Filament: Use your favorite ABS, ASA, PETG, Nylon Notes: Originally printed in ABS, but I have made a few of these in PETG as it should stand up to the loads. PETG is supposedly stronger than ABS and temperatures in this area of the car are not expected to be an issue for PETG. Would recommend printing with the part at a 45 degree angle, to optimize the strong/weak load planes of the layers. Tree supports were used, with the slicer setting for "Touching Buildplate" only.
