The Polestar 2 parcel shelf has, in my humble opinion, two design flaws. When you remove the shelf, a string can fall through its hole easily and you can lose it on the ground without realizing it. The string is strongly tied with no fail-safe feature. If you open the trunk and one rubber thingy dangling under the shelf gets stuck in your cargo, the door will force and the string can break. I designed this clip to fix those 2 problems. Print Simply print in black PLA, remove the support in the string cavity. I printed my clips with 15% infill, the hook force is perfectly balanced. Easy to clip/unclip with your fingers. Does not wear the PLA. Stays on even with some weight on the shelf but will unhook if a major problem arise. Installation Remove the small threading tying the loop (mine was ripped apart by the power liftgate force) Pass the string in the shelf (from bottom to top) Insert the string in the smaller clip hole Tie a knot, it will be hidden in the larger cavity. Hook the clip with the bulge towards the center of the trunk. Level the shelf by adjusting both sides, changing the knot placements. For a cleaner look, you can cut the extra string length after the knots are final. Update A friend wanted a tighter version. I made 3 additional variants with increasing grip. Try them if the regular file slips too easily. I have not personally printed and tested them, YMMV.
