The OpenSourceEV Rangefinder Key Fob Surround installs in under 5 minutes and replaces the metal carabiner part of the key fob with a strong, light-weight plastic surround. This version is for the Gen 1 Rivian keyfob only. Using our in-house printed ASA replacement, we found that it increases the lock range of the key fob by nearly 25% (~295ft to ~385ft), drops the weight of the fob by over 50% (55g to 20g), makes the fob smaller (2CM shorter, 5MM narrower). Plus it adds a reliable keychain hook AND can be printed in many different colors. We print and sell this in ASA and ASA-CF, but ABS and PETG should work well too. We strongly suggest that you use a high-quality PETG if that is your material of choice and store it out of direct sunlight to eliminate deformation. PLA is a no-go because of this.
