
This is a mesh derived from a scanned point cloud and not prepped for printing. This would be used to copy the important geometry (e.g. planes, ports and fastener locations) to create a new intake manifold or to fit-check a model before welding/cutting metal. Forgive the crazy color photos - I was experimenting with no scanning spray on a raw (slightly sanded shiny) part, vs. yellow spray paint (crusty old can found in the garage), vs. cornstarch/isopropyl in a mister spray bottle (the white tint on the lower plenum). 1:4 cornstarch takes the day for cost and ease of cleanup. Lots of tracking issues on the shiny part (need a larger scanning table with more target dots).
