I made this to replace the factory wire “filter” because I got some leaves and other tree parts in my fan after 20 years. You need to remove the factory piece to install this and probably clean its remnants with a dremel. (The wire is spot welded to the inlet in 4 places, easy to snip off to begin with)   Needs a filter material, some M3 screws and tapping for the screws. For installing you should remove the wipers and plastic covers under the windshield. The housing body has a groove on the bottom that should fit over the inlet. I put some silicone in that groove before pushing it on the sheet metal. Made it for my NB (2nd gen) but might fit NA (1st gen) as well
