Description

The wireless charger on the new Lexus NX leaves A LOT to be desired. The charger has a well known and documented issue where it will not reliably charge most new phones, especially new iPhones with MagSafe. I was fed up with it, so I designed a plate to fit inside the tray and hold a MagSafe charger in place. Because of the camera bumps, I put cutouts on both sides that should fit the bumps on an iPhone 12 through 14 Pro. I have not tested on Max models. This should fit an Apple or same-size charger. I used some double-sided tape to attach to the tray, and a drop of hot glue to hold the cord in place in the slot (right where it exits). I then put a USB-C flush charger in the 12v outlet inside the cubby under the tray. I did not need to disable the OE wireless charger; There is enough of a gap to not activate it. [EDIT: 04/03/23] I uploaded a modified version that has a larger bump cutout on one side to hopefully fit the Max bump. This model also has a few minor tweaks. Caveat: I have not actually printed this model. If someone prints it, please let me know if it works properly with 1) any of the Max iPhones, and 2) the other tweaks like the ridges in the charger cavity. [EDIT: 04/20/24] The original printed in PETG had warped so I reopened the design, made a few final tweaks, and re-printed in ASA (my new favorite material for vehicle stuff).
