This is a tool used for aligning the E-CVVT cover on certain Kia and Hyundai engines when reassembling, as well as installing the motor plug to the correct depth. this tool was created using careful measurements from the car, from the parts involved, and from photographs of the tool in question and does not represent a direct scan of the original tool. Some information was taken from the TSB linked below. https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10130103-9999.pdf The original tool is quite expensive and is machined to very precise tolerances In printing this tool I noticed that the z-seam may protrude from the side slightly and should be sanded smooth before using. The z-seam will prevent the tool from fitting through the cover. Always test fit your new motor plug on this tool for fit. Mine fit nice and snug but your printer settings may vary. always make sure the tool fits through the cover before use. If scaling of the tool is required you may do so, but be warned, the length of the tool must remain as is because the TSB stipulates the motor plug be set to a specific depth. The threads on the handle and in the tool are fully modeled and printable, however you may need to run a 10mm x1.5 tap into the holes on the tool, and a 10 mm x 1.5 die over the threads on the handle (my tolerances are probably off) In my experience the handle part is optional, but I included it anyway because its listed and shown in the TSB. I don't know how many models or what years use this tool, but i am fairly certain it is not limited to just what it s mentioned in this tsb I have used this tool to good results already. I wasn't willing to shell out $90 for a tool I wont use very often and this seemed like a good alternative. Keep in mind that while this is likely good enough and is well designed, it is not the official tool and may not be up to the exact tolerances of the original.
