I made this mod for the cold air intake installed on my 2011 Acura TL to help increase my gas mileage and still use the original intake tube. I noticed that with the intake, it caused my MPG to drop significantly and I didn't want to put the old one back in, so I decided to design a filter cover that connects to the original intake tube to the K&N filter to allow a 50/50 hot and cold air mixture. I find that this works pretty well and still allows the get-up-and-go advantage that these intakes allow. Plus it keeps its wining sound. This mod does require the intake tube to be moved a certain way in order to fit properly. I've had this on my car for a few months now and it hasn't melted yet because I did research on filaments that would hold up to the engine heat, and I chose ASA because of its high heat tolerance and durability. I would really recommend ASA for this mod if you don't want this to melt on your filter lol. Enjoy the upgrade!
