
The door handle on my 2017 Hyundai Ioniq (hybrid) has a button used to lock or unlock the doors. One day I drove home and when i got there the button was gone. It appears this is part of a small electronics board in the handle that has a rubber / TPU surround to keep out water and a harder button in the middle. The rubber flexes each time you push the button and eventually cracks around the button until it falls out. Hyundai wants you to replace the door handle. There are replacement boards with the button attached on ebay, but I figured I would try to make something cheaper. Basically this printed part sits in the handle with a small lip on the outside and is long enough to push on the tiny button in the handle on the board. It should keep out moisture but no guarantees. I used black Duramic TPU with a .4 nozzle at .2 layer height. Infill is at 20% or less grid. BUT you probably need to make the center button pusher post a little stiffer. I used a cylinder shaped infill modifier with 90% infill to make the center post a little stronger. You may have to play with these adjustments to get the right amount of flex on the outside while keeping the post in the center tough enough to push on the micro switch in the door handle. As I made it - It does require a bit more push in the center to actuate the button, but it works for me. Thanks to RevHazlett for the original model that I used to make this. The general idea is from that model but it is modified for this purpose. This might fit other Hyundai's or might be adapted. Hopefully this helps someone else with this issue.
