Converter for Hyundai i20 Car Phone Holder/Charger to use USB-C Family member bought a used Hyundai i20 car which had an iPhone Lightning connector, but has not been able to get either a complete replacement unit with USB-C, or a USB-C connector (you can't use an adaptor unless your phone is really small as it takes up too much space). Even from the manufacturer. This isn't an exact match, so it's not a copy. It is a made up piece that roughly fits in. I originally uploaded to Thingiverse . Printed on an Ender 3 V2 Using 'FAST' settings recommended by CHEP (Search YouTube), but with Layer Height 0.12 Design You'll need a couple of things, I bought all of the items linked some time ago so already had them in stock. I've listed the spec chosen in brackets. USB Type C Connector Male Socket with PCB Board https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001892345863.html (10pcs TYPE-C Male) Heat Shrink Tubing https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32991493244.html (one type) Silicone wire in a box tinned pure copper wire https://www.aliexpress.com/item/1005001609786868.html (Length: 50m, Specification: 24 AWG) Non-conductive superglue Print the item. Cut the existing wire from the plug half way along (so you can restore it if you need to!!). Solder the plug to short lengths of wire (mine were too long, but I'd soldered it by the time I realised). Add some heat shrink and give it some heat. Solder the other end to the G (black) and V (red) points on the USB-C board. Put some more heat shrink around the base of the USB plug and give it some heat. Push the USB plug into the hole as far as it will go. Check your phone fits in! Take the USB out a bit and add some superglue (non-conductive), then force it back in place. Put it all back together again.
