I have a 1999 Honda Crv, one night as i was walking away from the vehicle i noticed my lights were on. i walk back thinking ‘i may have left my lights on’ ( this car dose not have any type of auto lights). i open the door i make sure the lights are off. at that moment i had to be in a meeting that was starting soon, it was gonna be a few hours. well the meeting passes i come out and BAM! battery is dead… i get a jump, i get home i start to diagnose the issue (i had training to be an automotive tech years ago). i come to the conclusion the brake light switch is no longer working. i order a new one, it was gonna be a few days wait ( it wasnt on prime). i get the switch a few days later. i get back under the dash to start, once i get my self under there i noticed the stop pad was missing about 3rds of it. when i checked the first time i saw it there but i did not inspect it as it looked like it was in one piece. this time once i get a better angle to look at it most of it was missing. a too long story shoort i find an image of what i needed and i used lol tinker cad and designed a stop pad printed it in tpu. a 12-15 min print. and my issue was fixed. tl;dr i lazily inspected my vehicle ordered what i thought i needed, received the part a few days later. i squeezed my self under the dash and over the driver seat to get a better look . i noticed it wasnt the switch it was a stop pad that was needed booom. bam. designed. printed. issue was gone, fixed. this is the original Pads yea they are $10, but i didnt have $10 i used my last to buy the switch. i did eventually returned the $65 switch.
