I need to be able to drive my LX470 while I rebuild the front differential. This plug seals off the backside of the hub where the axle would usually go, protecting the bearings and splines. To install, I put 1 wrap of Gorilla tape around the narrower section to form a sort of gasket, then pounded in with a deadblow hammer. I check to make sure they haven't fallen out often. For longer term operation, I would either install them with RTV or use a bungee to keep them in place.
