To lock the pulleys, some hardware is required for this model. 2 - Fender washers - 1-¼" or 1-½" diameter 1 - 2-½" bolt up to 5/16" diameter. 1 - Spring lock washer 1 - Nut that matches the bolt The fender washers are required as they shift the pressure of the clamp from the outer edge of the cam pulley to the end of the clamp. Operation: Line the pulleys up according to the Work Shop Manual, and then insert the pulley clamp between the two pulleys. Push it as far as it will go. Tighten the nut until the lock washer compresses, then ½ turn more. Tug on the clamp. If it won't budge, then it's secure. If there's any movement, tighten a bit more. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN! The design of the clamp is such that forces from the clamp are transferred to the material between the pulleys to help offload the cam bearings.
