The plastic covers in the engine bay contain a dozen or so retainer clips that tend to fly out and get lost when the cover is removed. This part is a replacement for the retainer. Must be printed in the orientation modeled - if printed with the circular part on the build plate, the layer lines are not strong enough, and the part breaks.
