Custom M57 / M47 Valve Spring Compressor Tool A custom-designed valve spring compressor tool for BMW M57 engines, developed after finding that other available solutions didn’t provide the reliability, strength, or visibility required. This tool is designed to make valve spring and valve stem seal replacement easier, particularly when working on an engine while it remains installed in the vehicle. Key Feature – Improved Valve Visibility One of the standout features of this design is the open viewing areas, which allow you to clearly see the valves and retainers from above while the tool is installed. This is particularly valuable when working on cylinder #6, where visibility of the valve retainers can be extremely limited with the engine still in the vehicle. The openings allow you to visually confirm that the retainers are correctly seated before releasing the spring compressor. Installation & Use Set the relevant cylinder to TDC (Top Dead Centre) before installing the tool. Secure the compressor using long M6 screws or threaded rod with nuts and washers. All four mounting points must be used, and the fasteners should be tightened evenly and progressively. The tool is extremely strong when loaded with downward pressure. It is manufactured from high-strength ASA+ material, printed at elevated temperatures in a heated/enclosed chamber, and produced using 100% infill for maximum strength and rigidity. ⚠️ Important: Although the tool is designed to withstand substantial downward compression force, uneven tightening of the mounting fasteners can place excessive stress on the tool and may result in damage. Always use all four mounting points and tighten them evenly.
