Background The design was originally intended to be made from aluminium — and it still works perfectly that way. The geometry is simple enough that it can also be done with basic hand tools and a drill press, no CNC or mill required. After printing a first prototype though, I found the part holds up very well even in plastic. Two versions Self-tapping screws — the original threaded-hole design. For reference, my first prototype with self-tapping screws has done about 300 km of road with no signs of failure — but whether this is strong enough for your use case is ultimately your call. Lock nuts — a revised version with recesses for lock nuts, eliminating reliance on threads in plastic. Windscreen clearance & angulation This adapter is compatible with positions 1 and 2 of the giamaicaworx Device Holder, with good clearance from the windscreen. Position 3 is possible but the device will be in contact with the windscreen. Position 4 is not possible — there is not enough space to set the mount that flat. Material I'm currently running a PETG print and it holds up fine. For better long term durability ABS, ASA or PC are  probably better choices.
