Using a small tablet for navigation in a car is better than looking at a phone sat nav.    Clamps are available on eBay that fasten into the CD player slot when not in use.   This is ok but they do vibrate a little when driving.   If your clamp has a rectangular slot in it then use this.  It fits snugly in the slot and the arm fastens to the dash with self adhesive velcro.   Mine was made for a Volvo S80 so you may have to modify for other cars but once installed the tablet 10" in my case is held solidly.  I cranked the arm off at about 20 degrees to give a good viewing angle.  Mirrored it for Left Hand Drive.
