This is a custom insert for the Alfa Romeo 159 central air vent. It integrates an OBD2 digital display (tested with NEXPEAK A205 and should work with Autool X60 ), allowing you to monitor parameters such as speed, fuel consumption, temperature, and error codes directly in the vent opening. In addition, the model features a mounting bracket for a phone holder (secured with an M4 bolt). I used a generic Chinese clip-style phone holder with an adjustable ball joint. The bracket has air channels to provide cooling for the phone when the AC is on and reinforce the structure of the model. The insert also includes a cable routing slot for neat charging cable management. I tried using this fuse box USB charger , but it turned out too weak — consider a stronger power source. Assembly (OBD2 unit preparation): Verify that your OBD2 unit works with the car (some may be defective). Disassemble the OBD2 gauge. Disconnect the display. Desolder the light sensor. Extend the sensor with wires and glue it under the phone bracket. Insert the button control board forward (see photos) and glue it in place. Reconnect the light sensor wires to the board. Glue and reconnect the display. Installation (into the car): Remove the vent from the dashboard. Remove the stock horizontal and vertical guides inside the vent. Cut an opening in the duct to route the USB cable. Place the phone charging cable inside the mount’s slot. Insert the module into the vent (you may need to chamfer edges slightly). Remove the neighboring right vent for easier installation. Route and connect the OBD2 wiring and phone charger. It’s easier with the instrument cluster removed. Printing tips: Print in PETG or another heat-resistant filament (car interiors easily exceed 60 °C). Orient the model with the display side facing up . Use tree supports for best results.
